Overview

The City of Kyle is improving a 2.2-mile stretch of Old Stagecoach Road North, Old Stagecoach Road, and Center Street to reduce traffic congestion, enhance safety, and improve traffic flow. Funded by the 2022 Road Bond, the project focuses on roadway widening and reconstruction from Veterans Drive (RM 150) along Old Stagecoach Road North and Old Stagecoach Road. Old Stagecoach Road North will become a four-lane roadway, while Old Stagecoach Road will be widened to three lanes. On Center Street, the existing three-lane section will be improved by widening the center lane to enhance operations. To accelerate delivery, all three segments of the project will be bid and constructed independently.

Old Stagecoach Road North- Final Design

The final design plans (100% PS&E) were submitted in February. In addition, all final right-of-way offers have been sent to affected property owners.

Old Stagecoach Road - Final Design

The final design plans (100% PS&E) are on track to be completed in Spring 2026. All necessary right-of-way for the roadway improvements has been secured, and utility relocation work is scheduled to begin soon to prepare the area for construction.

Center Street (West Segment) - Contractor Bidding

The project officially went out to bid on January 5, 2026. Contractors have been reviewing the plans and preparing their proposals, and the bid opening is scheduled for March 2026.

Old Stagecoach Road Nears Final Design; Kyle Parkway/Lehman Extension Plans Completed

August 20, 2025

The Old Stagecoach Road project has reached 70% of its design phase, aiming to widen the corridor to four lanes and add roundabouts at Six Creeks and Center Street. Meanwhile, the design for the Kyle Parkway/Lehman Road Extension is now fully complete. This 1.3-mile extension will connect Bunton Creek Road to Dacy Lane with four lanes and four roundabouts, marking a major step forward in Kyle’s road improvements.

Progress Update: Bebee PS&E at 85%, Old Stagecoach Design 50% Done, Kyle Parkway Designs Due July 21

July 17, 2025

The City of Kyle is making steady progress on several road projects. Bebee Road East is 85% designed and will include three roundabouts to improve traffic flow. Old Stagecoach Road is halfway through design and will expand to four lanes with roundabouts at Six Creeks and Center Street. Final designs for the Kyle Parkway and Lehman Road Extension are expected by July 21, adding more connectivity and roundabouts to the area.

The City of Kyle is hosting a Road Bond Program Open House on Thursday, April 10 at City Hall (100 W. Center Street) beginning at 5:30 p.m. Residents can learn about eight road improvement projects approved in the 2022 bond, review project timelines and designs, ask questions of officials, and share feedback. There will be both a live-stream panel and in-person stations so everyone can participate.
