Limits: From Lehman Road to Porter Cove

Overview

This project will improve and expand Bunton Creek Road from Lehman Road to Porter Cove, including intersection improvements, widened travel lanes, and upgraded pedestrian and bicycle facilities. The project also includes reconstructing and improving the existing roundabout at the intersection of Bunton Creek Road and S. Goforth Road.

Project Updates

March 2026

Design is about 95% complete, and the project is on track to go out for bid in Spring 2026. The team is continuing to coordinate with utility providers on joint-use agreements, and right-of-way negotiations are nearing completion.

  • Length: Approximately 1.2 miles

    Location: From Lehman Road to Porter Cove

    • Realign curves to improve safety

    • Widen roadway to accommodate higher traffic volumes

    • Reconstruct roundabout at Goforth Road South for better traffic flow

    • Upgrade infrastructure to meet modern standards for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians

  • Construction funded by the City of Kyle’s 2022 Road Bond

    Total Project Cost = $28.6 M

    • Design Phase: Began in 2024 with City Council approval of a design contract to BGE Inc.

    • Requests for Construction Proposals: Scheduled for Winter 2025

    • Construction: Summer 2026 and anticipated to be complete in Summer 2028

Community Invited to Upcoming Road Bond Neighborhood Updates for 2022 Road Bond Projects

The City of Kyle is hosting Neighborhood Updates on Nov. 13 and 14 to share progress and answer questions on Bebee Road, Lehman Road/Kyle Parkway, and Bunton Creek Road projects. Residents can visit informational stations, engage with city staff and engineers, and learn about timelines and community benefits. These projects are part of the 2022 Proposition A Road Bond.

Get Your Questions Answered Virtually and In-Person at the 2022 Road Bond Program Open House

The City of Kyle is hosting a Road Bond Program Open House on April 10 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall. Residents can learn about eight road improvement projects from the 2022 bond, ask questions, and provide feedback. The event includes a live Q&A panel and informational stations. FY 2024-25 City of Kyle Budget Focused on Citywide Infrastructure and Operational Improvements Approved

The Kyle City Council approved the $363.3 million FY 2024-25 budget, maintaining the property tax rate at $0.4693 per $100 valuation. Key priorities include water and wastewater improvements, continued 2022 Road Bond projects, public safety enhancements, park and trail development, and operational improvements to generate $13.6 million in savings.
