Limits: FM 1626 to Old Bridge Trail and extends to the existing Marketplace Avenue
Overview
The project connects the northern and southern segments of the road, adding 0.6 miles of new roadway and widening the pre existing section between FM 1626 and Old Bridge Trail. Now complete, this improvement creates a direct, continuous route through the city, reduces congestion, and provides ease for residents and visitors to reach nearby businesses, neighborhoods, and community services.

Marketplace Avenue was the first of the 2022 bond projects to break ground and reach construction completion in Summer 2025
A ribbon cutting and grand opening block party was held on July 31, 2025. The road officially opened to vehicle traffic on August 1, 2025.

The City of Kyle celebrated the completion of the Marketplace Avenue Extension Project, the first road project from the 2022 Road Bond. The new 0.6-mile extension connects Marketplace Avenue from Old Bridge Trail to Kohlers Crossing, easing congestion and improving access with a four-lane roadway. The grand opening included a ribbon cutting and block party, highlighting this milestone in Kyle’s efforts to expand capacity, boost east-west connectivity, and prepare for future growth.
